Description
The Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Rotary Tumbler 7L is a full-size wet tumbler designed for high-volume brass case cleaning during the reloading process. It uses water, cleaning solution, and stainless steel pins to clean the inside and outside of cases, including primer pockets and flash holes that vibratory tumblers miss.
The 7-liter drum holds approximately 1,000 pieces of .223 Remington brass or roughly 500 pieces of larger calibers like .308 Winchester. A maintenance-free geared drivetrain (no belts) powers the drum, eliminating the most common wear item on rotary tumblers. The double-walled drum has a molded rubber lining that dampens noise during operation.
A built-in timer on the base adjusts from 0 to 3 hours and shuts off automatically when the cycle completes. Two sets of end caps are included: clear viewing caps for monitoring progress and sifting caps with flexible grates for separating stainless steel pins from brass after tumbling. The sifting grate is flexible rather than rigid, which prevents cracking under the weight of a full load.
For best results, run 1 to 2 hours with water, Frankford Arsenal Brass Cleaning Solution, and a small amount of dish soap. Pre-decapping brass before tumbling allows pins to access primer pockets more effectively. After tumbling, rinse thoroughly and dry brass completely before sizing or priming. A food dehydrator works well for drying both brass and pins.
The tumbler operates on standard 110V household power. Oval indentations on the drum allow one-handed handling when moving it on and off the base.
