Description
The NAR Individual Aid Kit is a small vacuum-sealed pack for treating a bleeding wound until help arrives. It has compressed gauze to pack a wound, a flat ETD pressure dressing to hold it, petrolatum gauze for a chest or abdominal wound, tape, and gloves. NAR designed it for people without medical training, so the contents are basic and the package opens by hand.
Everything is vacuum sealed into a block about 5.75 by 3.5 by 2 inches that weighs 6.6 ounces. It fits an admin pouch, a jacket pocket, or the lid of a range bag. There is no tourniquet in this kit. It is meant to sit next to the C-A-T you already carry, or to be the wound-care half of a squad kit.

Who should skip it
If you do not own a tourniquet yet, buy the NAR IPOK instead. It adds a C-A-T Gen 7 to a similar set of contents, and a tourniquet is the piece that matters most for a gunshot wound to a limb.
