Description
The Strike Industries Extended Bolt Catch is an oversized AR-15 bolt catch with a paddle Strike describes as a ping pong paddle. The top lever is big enough to hit with the heel of your support hand as it comes off a fresh magazine, so you send the bolt home without breaking your grip. The lower lever is also widened, which makes locking the bolt back by hand easier during a clear.
It is investment cast from 8620 steel and case hardened, the same as mil-spec, and Strike reinforces the paddle where it meets the body to handle palm slaps. The package includes the bolt catch and a new bolt catch roll pin. You reuse your factory spring and plunger. It fits forged mil-spec lowers and, per Strike, many billet lowers too, and it works with standard mil-spec bolt carrier engagement surfaces.
Specs

- Fits: Mil-spec forged AR-15 lowers; many billet lowers per Strike Industries
- Works with: Mil-spec bolt carriers

Who it’s for
3-Gun and PCC shooters who reload on the move and want the biggest bolt release target they can get without an ambi lower.
Who should skip it
The big paddle sits proud of the receiver, so it can get bumped in a rifle rack or on a barricade. If you want an upgrade that stays closer to the stock profile, the Strike Industries Enhanced Bolt Catch we carry is the smaller sibling. On a billet lower with a tight bolt catch pocket, check the fit before you drive the pin.
