Description

The Timney AR PRO is a two-stage drop-in trigger built for competition rifles. Timney specs it at an 8 oz first stage and a 1.5 lb second stage, for a 2 lb total pull. This is the flat-shoe version in black. Two stages let you take up the light first stage during the presentation and stage the second against a defined wall, which is why a lot of multigun and precision shooters prefer this style over a single-stage.

It is a self-contained drop-in module. It installs on your rifle’s original hammer and trigger pins with no gunsmithing, fitting, or adjustment, and Timney says anti-walk pins are not required. Timney lists it as compatible with mil-spec AR-15 and AR-10 lowers, so one part number covers both a 5.56 match rifle and a large-frame gas gun. Aluminum housing with steel internals. In the box: the trigger module, set screws, and an Allen wrench.

Heads up: A 2 lb total pull is light. Check your division rules if you shoot a discipline with a trigger weight minimum.

Who it’s for

3-Gun, multigun, and gas-gun precision shooters who want a light two-stage they can drop in and run without tuning, on either an AR-15 or an AR-10.

Who should skip it

If you want a single-stage with zero take-up, the Timney AR Calvin Elite (660CE) is the adjustable single-stage in this price range, and the Competition 667-S-ST is the fixed 3 lb option. If you run a blowback 9mm carbine, buy the Timney AR PCC (681) instead; its hammer is built for that abuse.
