Description
The CMMG Echo 22LR AR Conversion Kit is the step-up version of CMMG’s .22 LR drop-in bolt. Like the Bravo, it replaces your 5.56 bolt carrier group so you can shoot .22 LR through your match rifle with the same trigger, optic, and controls. What the Echo adds is an anti-jam charging handle and a forward assist adapter. That adapter is the reason to buy this kit over the Bravo. It gives the forward assist pawl something to push on, so you can seat a stubborn rimfire round instead of pulling the bolt.
The conversion bolt is stainless steel and CMMG says it works in most 5.56 and .223 chambered AR-15s with a round-style hammer. The kit includes the conversion bolt assembly, the anti-jam charging handle, the forward assist adapter, a cleaning jag guide rod, and one 25-round magazine. CMMG recommends 36 grain plated round nose ammo for the best function. Accuracy is limited by your centerfire barrel’s twist rate, so expect drill accuracy, not match groups.
Heads up: .22 LR will not cycle a piston-driven AR and will not run in a 9mm or 300 Blackout upper. Clean the chamber and bolt after use, since rimfire fouling and lead build up in a 5.56 bore.

Shooters who plan to run the conversion hard, in dry-fire-to-live-fire drills or in a rifle that has a forward assist they actually use. The forward assist adapter and charging handle solve the two most common complaints about .22 conversions.
Who should skip it
If you just want cheap plinking and will clear a stoppage by racking the bolt, the Bravo kit does the same core job for less, and the three-magazine Bravo kit we carry is the better value for practice sessions. Only one magazine comes with the Echo, so budget for extras.
