Description
The JP Enhanced Magazine Catch is an extended, textured magazine release button for AR-15 and AR-10 rifles. It replaces the small factory release button with a larger pad that is easier to activate quickly, without changing the rest of the magazine catch assembly.
The button installs without tools onto any standard mil-spec-style magazine catch. JP's attachment method avoids the visible through-hole found on most aftermarket buttons, so the finished look stays clean. Installation does not require removing or replacing the existing mag catch. The button works with the catch already in the rifle, and the toolless design avoids the receiver scratches that come from prying parts on and off.
Compatibility depends on clearance. The button must be free to rotate within a .66-inch diameter around the mag catch hole. Mil-spec lowers provide adequate clearance. Some proprietary lower designs do not, and the button is not compatible with JP's ASF-20 lower receiver, which uses an ambidextrous mag catch, or with certain non-mil-spec aftermarket catches.
