Description

The Timney Impact AR is Timney’s entry-price drop-in trigger. It is a single-stage cassette with a 3 to 4 lb pull, and this version has a straight shoe. You get the same basic idea as the Competition line, a clean break in a self-contained housing, at about half the price. The trade is a wider pull-weight window and a less refined break than the Competition or Calvin Elite.

It is a 100 percent drop-in module. It installs on your rifle’s original hammer and trigger pins in a mil-spec AR-15 lower with no gunsmithing or fitting, and Timney says anti-walk pins are not required. Pull weight is not adjustable. Each unit is hand-assembled, tested, and calibrated in the USA and carries Timney’s lifetime warranty. In the box: the trigger module, set screws, and an Allen wrench.

Heads up: Timney says the Impact is not compatible with AR-10 lowers, the S&W M&P 15-22, or 7.62×39 rifles.

Who it’s for

A new competitor’s first upgrade, a backup rifle, or a budget build where a drop-in trigger needs to beat mil-spec without spending Competition-line money.

Who should skip it

If the rifle is your primary match gun, the Timney Competition 667-S-ST gives you a fixed 3 lb break in the same straight-shoe layout for the tighter, more repeatable pull. Large-frame .308 shooters need the AR-10 Competition (670).
